Helena Kay Bio:

Award-winning tenor saxophonist Helena Kay is quickly becoming renowned as one of the UK’s most creative and virtuosic jazz artists, with two critically acclaimed albums, four UK tours and performances at the UK’s most esteemed jazz venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall and The Vortex.

Their latest album, Golden Sands (2022), was released on Kay’s own label, Sulis Records, in October 2022. The album received high praise from the jazz media, showcasing original compositions that are reflective of Kay’s experiences in their homeland of Scotland, and their time spent living in London and New York City.

Kay’s well-received debut album, Moon Palace (Ubuntu 2018), followed their Peter Whittingham Jazz Award win in 2017, which also funded the project.

Don Pascal BIO:

Originally from Toulouse, Don Pascal started DJ-ing in Paris in the early ‘90s.
Big record collector and crate-digger around the world, he mixed in many styles along the years (Funk, Jazz, Salsa, Brazilian, African, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Drum&Bass, Broken Beat, Deep & Afro House…)
After 8 years in Barcelona where he was resident DJ at the famous Cafe Royale, he moved to London in 2011.
As a producer his releases reflect his versatility and influences within the boundaries of soulful Black and Latin music.
In 2009 he released (under the name The Jivers with his musical partner Fred Spider) a jazzy club hit "Do What" followed by a highly regarded EP on the Jazz & Milk label.

His first solo project "THE CALI EXPERIMENT", is a Broken Beat/House - Salsa fusion and was released in 2014 on the very respected label Tru Thoughts.
In 2016 Don Pascal released a Deep-Afro House EP on Broadcite Music which attracted many interest in South Africa.
In 2020 he released THE DAKAR EXPERIMENT on R2 Records, a critically acclaimed follow up to THE CALI EXPERIMENT, this time blending London broken beats with Senegalese rhythms and colours, with the participation of Henri Guillabert and other members of the legendary Senegalese band Xalam.
In June 2022 he released a 7” with 2 tracks of Spiritual Jazz under the name SEPTEMBER SUN, with his musical partner Tom Funk. The project gained a lot of traction among the Jazz DJs around the world and in the UK.
